The Advanced Open Water program provides the novice diver with a structured, well-supervised means to gain additional experience. The Advanced Open Water program consists of the Advanced Open Water and Advanced Plus courses. Both courses initiate the diver to more specialized diving activities under the guidance and supervision of an Instructor.
The Advanced Open Water may be taken by Open Water Divers or those with equivalent certifications, who are a minimum of 15 years old.

The Advanced Open Water Diver course consists of five open-water training dives: two required *core* dives and three elective dives (instructor and student choice). In each dive, the instructor elaborates on the dive topic, after which the students participate in a structured training dive that includes specific objectives and related tasks.
